Photo Gallery | Sheriff: 2 men considered armed and dangerous arrested

Officers with the Irmo Police Department assisted Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies on Monday, July 2 in arresting 30-year-old Corey Lamar Stanton of Lexington who was wanted by the Sheriff’s Department on arrest warrants in connection with a burglary and armed robbery that occurred on June 25.

Irmo police officers also assisted deputies on Tuesday, July 3 in arresting 38-year-old Henry Patrick Vesey, Jr. of Irmo who also was wanted on arrest warrants in connection with the burglary and armed robbery at the Sharon Church Road home.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said an Irmo police officer who was patrolling near the home of the girlfriend of Stanton, spotted him standing in the front yard outside the residence.

Stanton was detained.

Deputies later took custody of Stanton and booked him at the Lexington County Detention Center at 7:05 p.m. on Monday on arrest warrants on charges of first-degree burglary and armed robbery. Stanton was being held on Tuesday at the Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.

An Irmo police officer encountered Vesey on Tuesday morning and detained him.

Deputies later took custody of Vesey and booked Vesey at the Detention Center at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday on arrest warrants on charges of first-degree burglary and armed robbery. Vesey was being held on Tuesday at the Detention Center while awaiting a bond hearing.

According to an incident report, both men entered a home on Sharon Church Road near Gaston armed with a handgun and demanded money, jewelry and drugs from the victims.
