COLUMBIA, SC (WIS)- An Irmo man was killed Wednesday night after his truck ran off the road and struck a utility pole, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Investigators say 65-year-old Ronald P. Woodard was traveling on Koon Road near Coogler Road around 10 p.m. when his 1992 Ford pick-up truck ran off the right side of the roadway.
His truck went into a ditch and then hit a utility pole, according to troopers.
Investigators say Woodard was not wearing a seatbelt and was partially ejected from the truck.
He died at the scene. An autopsy conducted today
shows that Woodard died from trauma associated with the crash.
