Inaugural “Rollin’ on the River” at Saluda Shoals Park

On Saturday June 16, Saluda Shoals Park will be hosting the inaugural Rollin’ on the River event. This river celebration paddle is open to all ages. Bring your own canoe/kayak or use one of ours. Tubes will also be available for a shorter river trip. During the trip down the river, participate in wild and fun activities! A photographer will be on hand to capture your exciting moments. Shuttle service will be provided back to Saluda Shoals Park for hot dogs, chips, and drinks. Lunch is included in registration. Visit vendors displaying the latest paddle sports gear and enjoy some great live music by the Blue Iguanas.

Whether you’re a canoeing/kayaking novice or expert, Rollin’ on the River will offer fun for all! There will be staff on hand to assist inexperienced paddlers, as well as guides to help you as you go along. The group paddle will begin at 9:30 A.M.

Once visitors have paddled down the river, they will be shuttled back to Saluda Shoals Park for live music by local band the Blue Iguanas, a hot dog lunch and activities including volleyball, cornhole, and horseshoes. Beginning at noon, visitors can take advantage of demonstrations including Kayak 101, Canoe 101, Paddles 101, a Rack Dog Clinic, and PDF 101. Exhibitors include: Confluence Watersports, Legacy Paddlesports, Hurricane Aquasports, Yakima Products, GoPro, Werner Paddles, AquaBound/Bending, and Kokatat.

Please note that a limited number of canoes/kayaks will be available and advanced registration is required. A driver’s license and a credit card are required to rent tubes and canoes.
