U-Gas: 400 gallons of fuel stolen from U-Haul trucks

The Lexington County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of 400 gallons of gas from U-Haul trucks.

The report said on Monday officers responded to U-Haul storage located on Jamil Road in reference to larceny of gasoline.

Deputies met with the General Manager who advised officers that someone stole fuel from her trucks, the report stated.

Deputies say the manager first noticed gas missing on Sept. 29. Since then the manager observed discrepancies in the fuel reported in the trucks before leaving the facility, the report stated.

The report said two weeks ago a hose was found near one of the trucks.

Deputies say it is estimated that 400 gallons of gasoline was stolen from the trucks.
