Scouts to Build 600 Picnic Tables for Parks in 60 Days

 

Thousands of scouts across South Carolina will spend weekends in March and April assembling picnic tables and placing them in state parks as part of the 600 in 60 project, an effort sponsored by Orangeburg-based Cox Industries, Inc., and coordinated with the Boy Scouts of America and the South Carolina State Park Service.  The goal is to build 600 new picnic tables from pre-cut and drilled lumber provided by Cox Industries, and place those tables at state parks around South Carolina within 60 days.

Saturday, March 2 and Sunday, March 3  Bank of America will offer cardholders free access to more than 150 cultural institutions in 91 cities across the United States.

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department code enforcement officers, resident deputies and school resource officers will conduct a Cook-A-Pig fundraiser, with all proceeds benefitting South Carolina Special Olympics.

The restaurant has undergone several contemporary changes designed to enhance the customer experience and is inviting the public out to celebrate and experience its new look.

Call for bands for 2013 Summer Concert Series deadline is March 1

 

City of Columbia Parks and Recreation is accepting submissions for the 23rd Summer Concert Series in Finlay Park.  Concerts will be held each Saturday night during the months of June, July and August, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. 

 

Interested bands are asked to provide a media kit which should include a recent photograph of the band, a live recording of the band and a bio of the band. Entries should be mailed to:
