Title (Max 100 Characters)
Our Hands Together Artisan Market will host HeARTs and Hands Together Silent Auction on Friday, May 11, 2012 from 6 – 8 pm. in its parking lot at 101 Ballentine Park Road, Irmo, with all proceeds from the auction going to Kim Sullivan, a Ballentine Elementary School art teacher who is battling cancer.
Upon learning just last week of Ms. Sullivan’s necessity to take leave before the school year’s end, one Ballentine mom kicked it into high gear to organize a night for the community to come together to support its dedicated teacher emotionally and financially through this tough time. With only days to plan such an event, Sarah Newman-Norlund reached out to her friends to help and partnered with Our Hands Together Artisan Market, a Ballentine shop of local artisans, to make it happen. Within two days, she had acquired generous donations from local businesses for the silent auction, including a Y membership, birthday parties, local art, locally-made crafts, food, and entertainment.
Donations from local businesses offering goods and/or services will be accepted as items for the silent auction as well as any work from local artists and crafters. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from the silent auction will go to Ms. Sullivan. In addition, Our Hands Together Artisan Market will donate 5% of the store’s May sales to her as well.
A block off the intersection of 76 (Dutch Fork Road) and Highway 6 (Dreher Shoals Road), Our Hands Together Artisan Market is located at 101 Ballentine Park Road, Suite A, Irmo, SC. For more information, call 803.749.0011 or e-mail sheri@ourhandstogether.com.
