Artists Selected To Participate In "Unearth" At Saluda Shoals Park

The Saluda Shoals Foundation and Irmo Chapin Recreation Commission are pleased to announce that 35 artists (see list below) have been selected to participate in Unearth at Saluda Shoals Park on October 7, 2012 from 1 – 5 p.m. Artists will demonstrate their creative skills throughout the park, along trails and in shelters, as they share their talents and teach park guests how art is inspired by nature. A variety of artistic mediums will be represented including: pottery, fiber, oil/watercolor painting, sculpture, literary, photography, dance and music.

In addition, an “Eco-Creating” Poetry Workshop will be offered lead by published author and poet, Cassie Premo Steele, PhD.

During October 1-7, an artists gallery will be located in the Environmental Center to showcase photographs from the Unearth Amateur Photography Contest. Unearth will also feature a performance by the SC Shakespeare Company of Pride and Prejudice Friday-Sunday, October 5-7.

For more information regarding all Unearth activities, please contact Cathy Carter Scott at 213-2015 or visit www.unearthsaluda.org.
